These grants are specifically designed to empower Native-led initiatives that are dedicated to increasing civic participation and strengthening the political power of American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to:
  • Tribal Governments
  • Native-led 501(c)(3) organizations
  • Native-led 501(c)(4) organizations
  • Native vote collectives

Eligible Projects

To qualify for funding, proposed projects must address one or more of the following areas:
  • Increasing Civic Participation: Encouraging greater involvement in the electoral process among American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
  • Enhanced Capacity of Tribal Organizations: Strengthening the ability of Tribal organizations to serve their communities effectively.
  • Comprehensive Data and Analysis Tools Development: Developing tools that provide valuable insights and data to support Tribal decision-making.
  • Youth and Senior/Elder Engagement Programs: Creating opportunities for intergenerational dialogue and involvement in civic life.
  • Strategic Coalition Building and Collaboration: Fostering partnerships and alliances to advance shared goals.
  • Communication and Outreach Efforts: Expanding awareness and engagement through targeted communication strategies.
  • Increased Awareness and Understanding of Native Voting Rights: Educating communities about their rights and the importance of voting.
